Yes Yes Yall!!!

What's new out there everyone? I have pretty much been ghost for quite a bit now. Reason being, I have been waiting on this right here...
Photobucket
My recording software bit the dust on my last post and, well...it was time to upgrade! So Pro Tools was the next step. I figured that most of my recordings could only be so good when running them off a free program and a 1/8 jack in the back of my computer. So to make a long story short, it's time to jam! Again, it's been a minute and I have dug up quite a few records since then. Let me see here...so far I have recieved...

Photobucket

Yup! Pretty much the whole Bruton catalog in shiny NM conditions! Well, about 175 of them to be exact. Lotta cheese on there I must admit, but that's how it goes on library ya dig? So, requests I don't mind...but we gotta keep it groovy unno?

First off...thank you to all of the subscribers out there. Good to see folks tuning in to the sound! Gotta few things coming up, so here we go!

Photobucket

This is gonna be a BIG event, for real! Me and my man Kidragon are throwing this event in the sunny San Diego. First off, if you don't know who Danny Dan the Beatman is, then let me hip you. Dan is the man behind the break/library compilation called "Dusty Fingers".

Photobucket

Photobucket

I must admit, he was one of the 1st people to put me on to the library scene years ago. Shows you how much learning you need, when older cats have been hip to stuff for years that you are just beginning to explore. Anyways, rumor has it there may be Marsellus/Dan/Kidragon mixtape in the works?

Also, joining him will be Mr. Supreme!
Photobucket

Now I sure hope all of the record nerds out there are aware of Supreme. From Conception Records, to break record excavation, this guy is a master of his craft when it comes to digging. Straight out of Seattle with Jake One by his side, they are the Conmen. Not cats that con you out of your lunch $, but well respected gentlemen of hip hop that will make you think you have records lol! If you are in the San Diego area then you gotta peep out this event! For real, don't Zzzzz....

Last but not least...

Check out Dj Revolution's new project/site called "In the Cut"...
Photobucket
@ http://www.thecutonline.com/

Revolution is definitely one of my bigger influences when it comes to cuts and multi tracking! Again, another heavyweight digger and hip hop producer. So be sure and check out his new site and archived videos.

With that said, I have also collaborated with Tucket and Bloom.
Photobucket
Whatever kind of bag your into, they got it! I am in the works of getting a sweet record bag right now! Just click the link at the top of my page, and be sure to check out their gear.

With that said, I am going to search through my archive for some weird/obscure library record to post this weekend. I may even get on a roll and post a few! Stay tuned and as always, stay thirsty!

Daniel Janin - Black Night & Saramina

Photobucket

Most of you already know of Mr. Eddy Driver, aka Daniel Janin. His arrangements have been compared to Axelrod in quality. I'm a little more of an Axelrod fan considering the catalog size. But either way, there is no point in comparing the two. Again, a lot of you out there are already hip to this, but I just wanted to post the tracks for a little groove time...unno? With Black Night & Saramina being a few of the fav's on this record, I leave you the preview. I seem to be on a kick of not leaving links...but have no fear, I'll make up for that! Peace, Love, and Chicken Grease.

Sunrise LTD. - Until My Love Returns

Photobucket

Seldom seen, and very rare private press on Pizzazz Records out of Detroit. This is an excellent jazz record with tons of Fender Rhodes, and of course...breaks! This album is pure HEAT I can tell you!!! As usual, I'll let my sound clip do the rest of the talking. Enjoy...

Harmony Cat's Theme

Photobucket

I just had to put this up here. This is such a nice track with instrumentation that makes you say....pfffff! If you want the mp3 I can give it but it's from a 45 so it's just a single tracker. Definitely a heavy sound with this one though. Probably one of my many favorite donuts. Enough talk, just listen to that beat...!

Sonoton 117 Industrial Themes and Underscores Vol. 1

Photobucket

Oh my! Tremendous breaks on this Sonoton masterpiece. This is by Mr. Gerard Narhoff himself. It is what you can expect with any Sammy Burdson/John Fiddy arrangement. Hard driven bass with thick drums and evil synthesizer chords. One thing I like especially about the Industrial Menace track is the off timed synthesizer riffs. If you listen to the pt. 2 version you can hear how off it is. It gives it that really nice swing with everything else on top. This is a production method used by many of the great hip hop producers when laying drums. It reminds me especially of the work of Dilla (R.I.P.) Anyways, this is a dope album, I assure you. Peep the sound clip...

A good friend of mine died yesterday. While most of you are used to me posting free record rips, most of you don't really know who I am or probably don't care. This is all good. Pretty much something you have to expect when you are in that position. This man was a huge influence on me and my music. He taught me about hip hop and led me to many artists such as Capone & Noreaga, Alkoholiks, etc. He will truly be missed. Sometimes when we get caught up on the things we think are important, we forget the blessing of life and family. My weakness is obviously records. But until a close one dies, life smacks you in the face and you realize what it is all about. Unfortunately, that only lasts for a short time. Then it's back to square 1. It's kind of crazy when a loved one passes, you almost wish you knew...and wish you could have gone back in time to warn them. Right? Anyone ever felt like that? My heart and soul goes out to you Cortez, and your family and loved ones. You were truly a genuine dude, and you will be missed by many. Rest in Power.

This track is for you man. I know you will be smiling when I pull this one out haha!!!

Bennesbeh La Bokra Chou OST (fixed again?)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

WOW WOW WOW!!! Yes!!! This record is heeeeeeat!!! This album is the Bennesbeh La Bokra Chou Soundtrack. The album is by Ziad Rahbani. It is an Arabic album recorded in Lebanon. Seriously, I have never seen this record before and I am a little hesitant to give it up for free. But hey, as long as you are supporting me, then what the hay right? If you are into Arabic music, then it is a wonderful album. It also has a few hip hop style samples for all you mp3 samplers out there. If you have not heard my mixtape (Shelf Arrangements), please check it out. Other than that...enjoy!!!

Chappell (LPC 1071) - Soft and Sweet

Photobucket

Photobucket

Winter is coming soon! Plus, Halloween is by far my favorite season. It does not get too cold here in San Diego. That is one element of TN I miss. So where it may be cold...warm up by the fire, have a glass of scotch, and jam to this prepping a fat juicy pork chop! Nothing but love on this library combined with a mother load of top notch session musicians. When you have Roger Webb, James Clarke, and Jacky Giordano joining the party, the record ensures nothing but quality stuff. Peace.

Telemusic 3037 - Rythmiques

Hello out there! Been busy lately with the new album and I'm glad to finally have it released. I know it's been a while since my last free record post, but I'm gonna try to make up for that. My man George came into town from Nashville and had a little something waiting on me. It was good to catch up considering I only see him once in a blue moon, and as I opened the door, he handed me this....

Photobucket

A fantastic suspenseful, open drum break, bass driven masterpiece! I'm sure a lot of you already know about this, but those that don't check the sound clip....

Marsellus Wallace -Shelf Arrangements (re-mastered)

This is my 2nd official mixtape. It's basically a mix of library, rock, and various breaks. It took me about 8 months to polish out. The big issue with this one was that I could not export the d&#n thing!!! Desperate measures had to be taken to actually save the whole project. That is when I called in my good friend and talented artist Xact One ----- http://sites.google.com/site/xaktdesign/ (he did the art work as well). Without him, this project would still be trapped in my computer. We worked day and night for 2 straight weeks battling this thing. So with that said, I proudly present "Shelf Arrangements".

Mladen Franko-Amazing Space Vol.2

Photobucket

This is another one that has been requested numerous times. I must admit, I didn't give the album a fair shake at first. But this is a very interesting record. Somewhat in the vein of the first album but way harder driven. Anyways, as promised...here is Amazon Space Vol.2 from the Sonoton catalog.

Silver & Gold 02-Rhythm Section

Photobucket
For the record (no pun intended), this library is not only ultra rare, but also ultra cheesy. In my opinion, it only has a few ringers. The rest I'll leave for you to decide. But here is v/a on the tiny private library label "Silver & Gold". Only 2 releases were made on this label, and very few pressings. This is not near as good as the 1st release I posted below, but worth a listen. I had so many requests for this one that I felt obligated to rip it. Enjoy...

To Agistri (The Hook) OST

Photobucket

Very excellent soundtrack composed by Giorgos Hatzinassios. This is a very sought after Greek record and has breaks, drama, and female vocals. I was very excited to find this record, considering it only pops up every once and a while. The film is a Greek sexploitation flick from the 70's starring the gorgeous Barbara Bouchet. Unfortunately, I do not read Greek, so anyone out there who could help with a track listing or any additional info is a superstar! Enjoy...

Sylvano Santorio - Charlotte Detective

Photobucket

WOW! What a great album we have here. If you remember Sylvano Santorio from labels such as IM, MP 2000, etc, then you sort of know what to expect with this album. But, listening to it, just reminds me of a hazy dream where I am being chased by cops in a dark urban alleyway. Hmmm. I don't know how else to put it. It is pressed on Charles Talar. But let me tell you, this record is rare, and very dope. Enjoy...

Standard Music Library ESL-126

Photobucket

I gotta say that this album has a pretty nice lineup. But in no way whatsoever is this on my top 50 of library record recordings. In fact, over half of the album is pretty corny. But...it does have a few gems on it. Especially songs like Mike Vickers "Mole Hill & Sven Libaek's "Bush Wind"(one of my favorite Sven tracks). Not trying to rag on it...but not every track is as good as the sound clips below...

Alan Parker 9~10~OUT

Photobucket

What a great sound this record has! It is your typical Alan Parker jam session on the monster beast label Music De Wolfe. Some great tunes and samples are on this release and I don't know what year, but it seems to use the older De Wolfe logo, so I am guessing 70ish. Enjoy...

Franco Micalizzi 7''

Photobucket

Now I know that most of you already are aware of this amazing film score by Franco Micalizzi. But there are some new comers out there that do not know. What we have here is a very nice 45 released on Italy's CAM label from, well...a very strange 70's horror movie called Chi Sei ?(English = Beyond The Door). This movie was like an Exorcist meets Rosemary's baby kind of flick. It would be nice to actually preview it. October is coming up, so maybe I'll have to hunt down a copy of the VHS or DVD. Check out the youtube vid for a sneak view of the movie. For some reason, I seem to be on a 45 kick? Oh well...enjoy!

Nick Ingman-Moody/The Gentle Rain

Photobucket

Another album right here that needs no introduction. What we have here is the Moody/The Gentle Rain Soundtrack. Released on Polydor/Circle of Sound, this OST has nothing but the cream of the crop lineup of library musicians. Nick Ingman on the arrangements, Brian Bennett on the drums, Alan Hawkshaw on the Piano, and Clive Hicks on the guitar. Every track on this album is a winner and there are far too many sleazy drum breaks to try to post. Stay thirsty my friends...

Sammy Burdson (Conroy Library BMLP 121) - Background Action

Photobucket

No intro needed on this massive Conroy LP. Simply one of the best library records out there. Hard driven drums with slick guitar riffs, and well...Sammy Burdson. Another rare number right here on Columbia Japan. This is an amazing dramatic orchestra style LP from Japan. It is by a group called Arakawa. Jacques Denjean-Silver and Gold

Photobucket

WOW, is all I can say! This library album is quite massive. What we have here are dark April Orchestra style beats as well as down tempo synthesized tracks all combined on one rare piece of wax. I know nothing about this label other than they had very limited pressings and only released 2 LP's. Songs like "the cult", with a dark Latin chant and "roll dance" with 70's (or 80"s ?) dance floor feel, and even the demented voices on "agony", ensure nothing but quality.

Rare French groove. Very nice little number right here. Heavy drama horns that can be slowed down to sound even grimier. Very wierd 7'' on Phillips from a movie or tv show called Le Jeune Fabre. This 45 is pretty much all about the B side, while the A is worth a listen as well. Enjoy...

Under Water - Vol.2

Photobucket

As requested from a number of people, here is a re-ripped @ 320, vpi scrubbed, amazing piece of non-recycled vinyl : ) This is "like I always say", one of my all time library favorites. With the deep droning sounds of Sam Sklair & Otto Sieben, to the cheesier "alive at sea" sound of Mladen Franko, you are in for a treat. Very hard to find, considering the 1st vol tends to pop up every once in a great while : (
