Con The Music Makers - The Barry White Sound (link fixed, hopefully)

Ok here we go! Back at it with another exclusive gem, you'll only find here at the Crate Favorites. To be honest, I have no idea who this record is by other than it being titled "Con The Music Makers". It comes from Mexico, but I doubt the musicians are. That's just my guess though. It's un-googlable as far as my research, and I don't imagine their are too many floating around out there. It's basically covers of Barry White songs. My favorite is of course the classic "I'm gonna love you just a little bit more" (Voy A Quererte Por Un Rato Mas). The version on this LP is absolutely stunning. Bajo La Influencia Del Amor is really nice too. The album has a few other ringers on it. All of it has that real grimy private press recording quality we all love so much! If anyone has anymore information about this record, I'd really like to know. Until then, enjoy this gem. Peace!

  5. Fantastic grooves, Marsellus! Thanks for this!
btw, "con" just means "with" in Spanish, so the group here is "The Music Makers" without the "con" ;)

  6. The mediafire error says "Under the Influence of Love" by Soulful Love Orchestra. Is that a different deal altogether?

  11. It's weird. No amount of reloading either this page or the Mediafire page would result in the correct link. I tried it on a different computer at work today and it worked. Weird.

  17. As it was said before, Con means With, so it's possible that you have the artist and title switched up. Since it's all Barry White covers, it seems the correct titling of the album would be:

The Music Makers - The Barry White Sound

    Link still working, thanks!

There are a lot of hidden gems on these 'anonymous group' cover albums amongst the dreck.
